The responsibility that we have to the animals we keep is to provide a well suited environment for them to be happy and thrive. As hobbyists we have had experiences (or will at some point) with our reefs that are inexplicable, that can leave us second guessing the hobby all together. However, whichever method of reefkeeping you use, we can all agree that keeping our home reef water parameters stable is key to being successful.
The Reef Professional Kit will help you keep your water quality in check, monitoring your reef`s Alkalinity (dKH), Calcium, Phosphorus (ULR phosphate), and pH. These parameters are all key in maintaining a healthy reef aquarium. The Reef Professional Kit will remove subjective results and guesswork, by taking away the color matching by eye test results, giving us more accurate readings. The gap between simple chemical test kits and expensive instrumentation has now been bridged with this convenient, professional kit.
- Digital equipment for accurate results.
- Complete kit includes everything you need, so you can start testing today.
- Specifically chosen for use in saltwater reef aquariums.
Take a look at what`s included:
1 x Hanna Marine Calcium Checker HC (HI758U)
The HI758 Checker® HC (Handheld Colorimeter) gives you accurate results, provides a straightforward way to measure calcium. Required for the development of calcium carbonate skeletons of coral reefs, calcium is a crucial component of marine waters. Accurately testing calcium levels is critical for everyone from coral reef hobbyists to aquaculture farms and research facilities. Updated to include the HI731339p mechanical pipette for better accuracy.
1 x Hanna Marine Alkalinity (dKH) Checker HC (HI772)
The HI772 Checker®HC (Handheld Colorimeter) provides a simple, accurate, and cost-effective way to measure alkalinity in degrees of carbonate hardness, commonly abbreviated as dKH. Critical to marine environments, alkalinity not only provides the carbonate ion concentration required for skeletal formation and growth of many coral, but also acts as a pH buffer against large changes in acidity..
1 x Hanna Saltwater Aquarium Ultra Low Range Phosphorous Checker HC (HI774)
The HI744 Checker® HC (Handheld Colorimeter) is a cost-effective way to measure phosphorus (orthophosphate as phosphorus) in marine systems, including reef tanks. Testing for orthophosphates is standard practice for saltwater aquariums and provides valuable insight into your reef tank’s water chemistry to help ensure long-term coral health. Phosphorus is an important parameter to measure in aquaculture and aquariums; levels that are too high can lead to extensive algae growth and prevent coral calcification and growth.
1 x Hanna Instruments Marine Waterproof Salinity and Temperature Tester (HI98319)
The Hanna Instruments Marine Salinity and Temperature Tester (HI98319) was designed to simplify testing your salt mix`s salinity and temperature in seconds, with reading results in parts per thousand (ppt), Practical Salinity Units (PSU), or specific gravity (S.G.).
This waterproof tester uses a graphite amperometric conductivity probe, which is resistant to oxidation, improving the measurement repetition to determine the salt content in the water. The use of a graphite probe also reduces the polarization effect common with testers that use two stainless steel pins.
Calibration is performed by pressing the dedicated calibration button. Once in calibration mode, the probe is placed in 35.00 ppt calibration standard. When the standard value is recognized and stability reached, the meter will automatically accept and store the value.
The Hanna Marine Salinity Tester displays the readings along with temperature on an easy to read large LCD screen.
1 x Deionized Water 230 mL Bottle (HI70436m)
The HI70436m Deionized Water is intended for cleaning cuvettes and for use with the HI758 Calcium Checker® HC. The Calcium Checker requires deionized water with very low electrical conductivity (TDS) levels. Using DI water with elevated EC values at C1 stage in the HI758 will cause false high readings.
1 x Phosphate Reagent Pack (HI774-25) – 25 Tests
These high-quality reagents that are pre-measured, allowing for users to achieve fast and accurate measurements with their Phosphate Ultra Low Range Checker® HC. These reagents follow the Ascorbic Acid Method in which the reaction between phosphorus and reagents causes a blue tint in the sample. By simply adding the packet of HI774-25 reagent to the sample, the reaction will take place and the HI774 will determine the concentration from the color that is produced. The results will be displayed in ppb of phosphorus. These reagents are designed to be used with samples that have an expected range of 0.00 to 0.90 ppm phosphate.
